在英国从事研究和教学12年后,董华回到了母校同济大学,在设计创意学院担任教授,并于2014年2月起开始担任同济大学艺术与传媒学院院长。


她获得了英国高等教育执教证书,直接参与本科和硕士研究生教学(设计过程、用户研究、设计研究与写作、包容性设计),并指导数名博士研究生。科研方向为包容性设计,领域涉及产品、环境、视觉传达、人机交互、媒体;涉及包容性设计过程、用户与设计师合作方式、设计过程中的数据使用、健康工程与家用医疗器械设计研究、应对老龄化的设计创新,设计教育和设计伦理。


董华入选中组部青年千人计划,在英国和中国主持和参与过多项科研项目,发表同行评议论文100余篇。


她毕业于同济大学建筑与城市规划学院,获工业设计学士学位和建筑学硕士学位,在剑桥大学获博士学位,曾担任剑桥中国学生学者联谊会主席、全英中国学生学者联谊会主席。目前担任若干国际组织的组委会成员,并担任国际设计研究学会理事和包容性设计特殊兴趣小组国际协调人。


Hua Dong returned to Tongji University as a Professor at the College of Design and Innovation,following 12-year research and teaching in the United Kingdom (University of Cambridge, Royal College of Art, and Brunel University, London). She has extensive experiences of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary design research. As a Principal Investigator for a number of research projects in the UK (e.g. EPSRC, ESRC and TSB) and China, Hua has collaborated with engineers, artists and designers, business professionals from both academia and industry. She has published over 100 papers and is directly involved in the teaching of design at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.


Hua Dong founded the Inclusive Design Research Group at Brunel University and Tongji University. She is the international coordinator of the Inclusive Design Research Interest Group (InclusiveSIG), and serves as a council member of the Design Research Society (DRS). From Feb 2014, Hua Dong became the Dean of the School of Arts and Media at Tongji University, where she heads a multidisciplinary team of new media arts and technology, journalism and communication, radio, TV and film editing, dance, music and performance art.
